The Alecto Smart bridges uses the Zigbee standard. Zigbee is a communication protocol which compares to WIFI and Bluetooth that enables smart sensors to intercommunicate. Pairing to the Alecto SMART-BRIDGE10 is wireless so sensors can be placed anywhere in your house.

You could, for instance, have your SMART-CAM10 start recording when the smart motion sensor detects movement or have the heater go on when the SMART-HEAT10 senses that it starts to go cold inside your house.
