The Alecto WS5400 is an 8 in 1 WiFi weather station with outdoor sensor and app control, ideal for the more professional user. This weather station with outdoor sensor is equipped with a WiFi connection and features no fewer than 8 sensors on the indoor and outdoor unit. This gives you direct insight into current, local weather conditions. All values can be read via the colour display and the Smart Life app on your phone or tablet. Professional measurements

The wireless outdoor sensor and indoor unit (display) feature various high-quality sensors that provide a complete and reliable picture of the current local weather conditions and indoor comfort.

Based on real-time data and history, wind chill, heat index and dew point are also calculated, as well as a weather forecast for the next 24 hours. This professional weather station is equipped with a rain gauge for registering the amount of precipitation. If desired, you can set a number of alarms for maximum and minimum values for temperature, humidity, wind speed and precipitation, among others. The weather station has a memory with the lowest and highest measured values.

All your smart products in one app

The Alecto WS5400 works with the Smart Life app, free to download via the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. Developer Tuya Smart focuses only on the app, not on the development of products. The focus is on connecting smart products in one app.

With the Smart Life app:

• You control your smart devices remotely via your smartphone, wherever you are.
• You control different devices in one app
• You can set notifications as soon as something happens with one of your devices.
  • Is it raining? Receive a notification so you know you need to close the sunshade.
  • Is it windy? Useful to be informed before getting into the car.
  • Does your camera detect movement? Then you can set it to receive a notification on your phone, so you can immediately see what is happening.
  • Does the smart smoke detector give an alarm while you are not at home, then you can receive a notification and take action.
• You can set automations. These ensure that actions are carried out without you having to do anything yourself. You connect smart products to each other. Some examples:
  • Have your smart plug turn on to activate your garden sprinkler when the temperature is higher than 20 degrees.
  • Switch on your smart thermostat when the temperature drops below 18 degrees.
  • Have your smart sunshade retract when rain or strong wind is expected.
  • Activate your smart humidifier when the humidity in the house drops below a certain value.
  • Automatically activate your smart lights when it gets dark, for example half an hour before sunset.

UV radiation sensor

This extensive weather station is equipped with a sensor for UV radiation/sun strength. Sun strength is a measure of the amount of ultraviolet radiation in sunlight that reaches the earth. The expected amount of UV is displayed in the UV index. This number indicates the effect of the strength of the sun’s radiation on unprotected skin. On sunny days this can reach UV index 8 in the Netherlands. This is quite high and can cause you to burn within 10 to 15 minutes. On such days it is wise to apply sunscreen properly or avoid direct contact with the sun.

Indoor unit with self-dimming colour display and display lighting

In addition to the app, you also have the attractive colour display (diameter 4.8” / 12.3 cm) for reading current weather data. The Alecto WS5400 shows, in addition to time and date, a clear overview of historical data and makes its weather forecasts based on all this data.

The large colour screen also has display lighting, ideal for use in the dark. Because the display is self-dimming, the brightness of the display is automatically adjusted to the environment. When the environment is dark, the screen dims, when it is lighter, the screen lights up more. All these functionalities make the weather station ideal for your bedside table, a dresser or on the wall.

Advanced wireless outdoor unit

The outdoor unit is equipped with most of the sensors and is placed outside, preferably in an open area so that the sensors are not obstructed by the surroundings. For example, do not place the unit next to a wall, as this can affect wind speed, wind direction and temperature. The outdoor sensor shares the registered data wirelessly with your indoor unit and the app that can be read on your smartphone, tablet or computer. The range of the wireless outdoor sensor is 30 metres, although this will be greater in open fields and in the absence of obstacles.
