New Energy label
The European Commission has revised several energy efficiency regulations. This includes a different appearance of the well-known energy label and a tightening of the energy efficiency requirements.
The new energy labels will come into effect on March 1, 2021 for the following products:
- TVs (updated) and monitors (new)
- Dishwashers (updated)
- Fridges and freezers (incl. wine fridges, minibars) (updated)
- Washing Machines and Tumble Dryers (No Tumble Dryers) (Updated)
- Commercial refrigerators with a direct sales function (new)
- Lighting products (lamps updated, luminaires new, since September 1, 2021)
The main changes in the six new regulations are as follows:
- The reintroduction of the original A-G scale and the abolition of the confusing A+, A++ and A+++ energy classes. That is, the most efficient devices on the market received class A.
- A previous A+++ appliance can have an energy class B, C or less since the spring of 2021. So there is an incentive to develop new, more efficient devices in the future.
- Rescaling is accompanied by stricter efficiency requirements. For lighting products, for example, an efficiency increase of up to 70% can be expected.

Easily automate your lighting with the SMARTLIGHT40. With up to 16 million colours (RGB), the smart lamp creates ambient lighting in your home. This colour LED lamp works easily and directly via Wi-Fi, so you don’t need a bridge or gateway. You can adjust the colour and brightness using your smartphone or tablet. The lamp is dimmable and due to its different colour temperatures, you can choose a bright white colour or opt for a warm atmosphere (2,000-4,000K). Enjoy a nice and warm light during a cosy evening with friends and make use of bright white light while working or cleaning.
Automatic operation
Operate the Alecto SMARTLIGHT40 with ease using the free Smart Life app (Android and iOS). This app enables you to manage all your Alecto Smart Life products, create time schedules and link the lamp to other smart products. In addition to the Smart Life app, the smart lamp works on Tuya and works with voice control from Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
You don't have to be afraid of high energy bills due to the low power consumption (5W). The lamp is energy efficient and has a lifespan of up to 15,000 burning hours. Furthermore, the light output is 350 lumens, comparable to a 35W incandescent lamp. The lamp has a size of 58 x 50 mm and a GU10 fitting.
